Airside Safety Training Course
Essential training for those working in airside environments.
Conformant with IATA AHM 1110 GEN 04.
Overview
The airport airside environment is a busy operational area where safety, awareness and compliance are essential. With aircraft movements, ground service equipment, restricted zones and multiple teams working in close proximity, personnel must understand the risks and procedures involved before entering the ramp environment.
Our Airside Safety training course provides a practical introduction to working safely within the airport airside area. Designed for new starters as well as existing personnel requiring recurrent training, the course covers the essential safety principles, operational awareness and workplace disciplines needed to work confidently and compliantly around aircraft and airport infrastructure.
Participants are guided through key topics including airport layout and restricted areas, airside markings and signage, safe ramp working practices, and the hazards associated with aircraft movements, vehicles, ground support equipment and specialist handling equipment. The programme also covers important safety subjects such as Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention, personal protective equipment (PPE), seasonal weather exposure, slips and falls, noise awareness, and risk management.
Emergency preparedness also forms a key part of the course, including alarms and notifications, incident response procedures, fuel spill awareness, vehicle and aircraft incidents, and on-stand emergency situations. By the end of the training, participants will have a clear understanding of the responsibilities and behaviours required to operate safely in the airside environment.
This course has been developed in line with the latest applicable elements of IATA Airport Handling Manual AHM 1110 GEN04, providing internationally recognised, industry-relevant training suitable for airports and ground handling operations worldwide.
Please note: This course does not include ADP (Airside Driving Permit), training which is typically undertaken by (or on behalf of) the Airport Operator.
We regularly deliver this training course for our partner Red Sky Personnel as part of their Business Support offering.
