Safety Management Systems for Aerodromes Course
SMS for Aerodromes course for those who want to expand their approach to aviation safety.
Overview
An aerodrome operations specific 3-day basic programme designed for those responsible for developing, implementing and participating in a systematic approach to managing aviation safety, including the necessary organisational structures, accountabilities, policies and procedures.
Maintaining a safe and compliant aerodrome requires rigorous following of procedures, regulations and best practices in airside safety. Understanding a Safety Management System and how and why to implement one, is an important part of championing a safety culture within an aerodrome.
This is a highly practical course which explores, using real-world case studies and examples, the purpose of SMS, industry regulations, airside safety and risk management, human factors, accident and incident investigation, and an introduction into the specific systems in place to maintain oversight and proper implementation of an SMS.
The overall aim of this course is to give participants the knowledge required to help implement key components of a basic SMS, with interactive examples and industry best practices the core focus throughout.
